Project Bridge gives TUSDM students the opportunity to volunteer and provide direct dental care to at-risk and homeless youth aged 14-24 at the Bridge Over Troubled Waters program. Since 1970, Bridge Over Troubled Waters has been dedicated to changing the lives of runaway, homeless and high-risk youth, and TUSDM is so excited to be a part of this effort!
With three fully functioning dental chairs, TUSDM students are able to provide preventative and basic restorative services to 3-5 patients per week. Some of the treatments provided include:
- Comprehensive exams
- Radiographs
- Prophylaxis
- Scaling and root planing
- Restorations and sedative fillings
All TUSDM students are welcome to volunteer. We welcome first and second year students to come as dental assistants to the third and fourth year dental providers.
Sign up is on a first come first serve basis and we ask that you limit yourself to one time slot. Thank you!
