November is ASDA’s Advocacy Month and Tufts ASDA would like to kick it off with a couple of events hosted by its district and local Advocacy Committees! These events will provide you great opportunities for dental students to learn about issues important in dentistry and how YOU can become more involved – learning, educating others, and spreading awareness about the issues that impact dentistry the most.

Friday, November 5th @ 11AM – Brunch & Learn: Licensure Reform, The Power of Advocacy in Action (Rachel’s Auditorium Rm 1414)
Join Tufts ASDA Advocacy Committee to learn about how ASDA helped bring about real change through advocacy to influence the way dental students take their licensure exams. We will have plenty of donuts, muffins, and hot chocolate to go around, and attendees will have a chance to win a mini waffle maker!
Wednesday, November 10th @7PM – Dinner & Learn: Speaker Series w/ Dr. Lisa Simon DMD, MD from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Harvard Medical School (Merritt Auditorium)
Dr. Lisa Simon has been involved in the implementation of innovative medical-dental integration projects embedded in community health centers and dental clinics, hoping to improve health for all people. We will have a Q+A with Dr. Simon about breaking the barrier between the medical and dental fields. Dinner will be served for all attendees and raffles prizes will be given out!
