Building student involvement, fostering civic engagement and enhancing community service to advance public health.
The D24 class is excited to announce their clothing/book drive for Boston’s organization, More Than Words. The drive will start Monday, September 27th – Sunday, October 3rd. There will be two donation boxes in the Student Lounge on the 7th floor for you to drop off your donations. One will be for clothes, the other for books and other goods.
Below is a guideline of what would be accepted for donations. Please look over this. We also ask that you have your clothing donations bagged. So look through your closets over the weekend and clear your shelves.
The goal is to collect 150 donated items. We can do it TUSDM!
To learn more about MTW, you can visit their site here and read their mission below.
“More Than Words is a nonprofit social enterprise that empowers young adults who are in the foster care system, court-involved, homeless, or out of school to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a business.
We believe that when system-involved youth are empowered with authentic and increasing responsibilities in a business setting, and are given high expectations and a culture of support, they can and will address personal barriers to success, create concrete action plans, and become contributing members of society who live, love and own their futures.”
