D23 Jumbo of the Week

Meet this Week’s Jumbo of the Week:  Ashley Makala!

Undergraduate Education: University of Georgia, Public Health

Positions of Leadership at TUSDM:  SNDA Community Service Chair

Favorite Thing about TUSDM/Why you chose Tufts: It’s exhausting when you’re not being yourself. From the interview, I knew I wanted to go to Tufts because I didn’t have to pretend to be someone else. Students and faculty truly want to get to know who you are. Whether it’s Mrs. Maria greeting you on the 6th floor after a long day in pre-clin or getting to catch up with classmates, Tufts truly promotes a familial experience!

Fun Fact About yourself/Things involved in outside of  School:   Fun fact — I’ve lived in four different continents. Other fun facts — When I’m not in school, I enjoy exploring and traveling around town (especially by checking out the best spots to eat). Whether it’s playing an instrument (piano/clarinet) or going to concerts/shows, music has always been a big part of my life.
