Join MDS and ASDA for the 12th Annual (and first virtual!) District 1 Student Debate. Throughout January we will air the first three rounds featuring the five District 1 dental schools plus a pre-dental team as they face off in multiple rounds arguing pertinent policy and ethical issues confronting students and practitioners alike.
Join us on Saturday, January 30th at 3:15 pm for the live debate of our final two competing teams. Come see if your school will be vying for the chance to win the title of Debate Champions. You must be registered for a Basic Pass or Power Pass for Yankee Virtual 2021 in order to attend the debate.
The event will also recognize our group of amazing 2021 Volunteer Award Winners, 10 Under Ten award winners, and student scholarship recipients.
Hear from our generous sponsors, Crest + Oral B and EDIC, and enter to win raffle prizes!
Round 1 | Boston University vs. University of New England
In light of clinic time lost to COVID-19, many dental students have struggled to complete their graduation requirements. Most dental schools’ clinical education model requires students to complete a numerical threshold of procedures to demonstrate competency – a points system. The numerical requirements are discipline-based. In recent years, some dental schools have revised their clinical education models.
