Building student involvement, fostering civic engagement and enhancing community service to advance public health.

As many of you have heard, what happened in Beirut on August 4th is devastating to the people of Lebanon. This catastrophic explosion, the third largest ever, displaced many from their homes during this global pandemic, and thousands of civilians are heavily wounded and in desperate need of medical attention.

For anyone who would like to donate to this disaster relief, we would like to provide some reputable sources that have been coordinating with NGOs in Lebanon.  This country really means a lot to us and our fellow Arab classmates who have family back home. Lebanon needs your support now more than ever, and even the smallest donation makes an enormous difference. Even if you are unable to donate, please share this message!

For those who find it easier, Mariam Dakka (D21) and Jessica Nar (D22) will also be accepting donations through Venmo (@ Mariam-Dakka) or (@ jessynar) to send directly to the Lebanese Red Cross. We want to thank you so much in advance, this truly means a lot. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Mariam Dakka (Mariam.Dakka@tufts.edu)
