Research and/as Activism

Wednesday, June 24 at 1pm

When does community + students + research = activism? What questions are communities asking and how can students collaborate with community partners and help find answers? How can students help turn a spotlight on important community concerns?

Hear directly from Tufts students (American Studies, Computer Science, International Relations, and Psychology) whose interests span identity and language, racism in computer algorithms, voting access, and the experiences of first-generation students in elite institutions. Student panelists will share their research experiences, considering how it lowers the barrier between conventional research and community activism. All are welcome to participate in an inspiring group discussion following the panel. This online event is supported by the Tufts Scholar Development Office and the Tisch College Community Research Center. Bring your ideas and questions about leveraging research for critical changemaking. For more information, please contact elaine.donnelly@tufts.edu
