Join Us for Zoom “Lunch Talk” with Dr. Hamdan, Global Smile Foundation, ENT Surgeon

Tufts GSSA is very excited to host Dr. Usama Hamdan, an ENT surgeon from Lebanon. He serves on the board of the Global Smile Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to repairing cleft lip and palates. The Zoom “Lunch Talk” will be held May 4, 3-4pm, zoom invite BELOW!

Dr. Usama Hamdan is an ENT surgeon from Lebanon with clinical faculty positions at Tufts School of Medicine, Boston Medical School, and Harvard Medical School in Otolaryngology. He is also the board president of the non-profit Global Smile Foundation. Global Smile’s mission is to provide comprehensive cleft care for patients born with cleft lip and palate in underserved communities throughout the world. For more than three decades, GSF founders and volunteers have been committed to developing and implementing comprehensive outreach cleft care programs in places such as Ecuador, Peru, and El Salvador with a focus on quality care coupled with empowerment and sustainability initiatives for local healthcare providers.

Via a Zoom presentation on May 4th @ 3p EST, Dr. Hamdan will discuss the background of the organization, challenges they face in providing high quality surgical care, and his perspective on the role and impact of global surgery.
