“Last Thursday (2/27/2020), AAPD members, Kathryn Sierra (D22), Andrea Boraski (D23), Binh Phan (D23), and Joleen Phan (D23) spent some time at the YMCA in Malden educating children in the community about the importance of oral health! Together they gave a presentation to four classes of children aged 3 through 5. They spoke to them about the importance of oral hygiene and nutrition. The kids were so eager to answer questions and sing along as they practiced brushing the stuffed dragon’s teeth. They also took turns practicing their new learned skill of flossing. Each child received a goody bag with a new toothbrush, fluoridated toothpaste, floss picks, fun stickers, and a brochure to take home to their parents. AAPD loves working with young children in the Boston area and is very excited to continue their relationship with the YMCA throughout the coming years!” – Reflection by Kathryn Sierra
