Building student involvement, fostering civic engagement and enhancing community service to advance public health.

Hosted by Nancy Marks, Dept. of Public Health and  Karen Alexander, Dept. of Student Affairs,  this year’s annual student leadership development dinner and training brought together over 50 student leaders and 5 faculty advisors on February 20th.  The evening included a quiz on communication styles and an activity that illuminated each participant’s tendencies around planning that got everyone on their feet and led to a lot of laughter and sharing.  A student leader panel offering a range of experiences was fortunate to have the wisdom of student leaders: D21s: Kaitlyn O’Connell, Stephanie Samrin and Sho Taniguchiho; Valerie Ngangoua Bouhom, D20  and Jacksyn Clanton, D22. Folks stayed beyond the 2 1/2 hour training to continue networking while munching on cookies.   Thanks to all who attended!
