Building student involvement, fostering civic engagement and enhancing community service to advance public health.

The coalition of Boston dental students and dentists are working to reform the dental licensure process here in Massachusetts. A group of dental students from Tufts, BU, and Harvard met Wednesday night to discuss the current licensure process, the key stakeholders, and next steps to support MA House Bill 4269. The text of the bill can be found here: https://malegislature.gov/Bills/191/H4269

The mission of this coalition is to engage local and national dental licensing stakeholders in discussion and action reviewing the past, present, and future of obtaining a license to practice dentistry in the commonwealth of Massachusetts in a valid, ethical, and equitable manner.
We will be meeting next week, January 16th from 5:00 – 6:30 PM at BU Dental for a conversation with a BORID (Board of Registration in Dentistry) representative regarding the licensure process.

If you are interested in participating in this coalition, please reach out to Jamie Abraham (jamie.abraham@tufts.edu) or Sho Taniguchi (Sho.Taniguchi@tufts.edu). The exact location of the meeting will be forthcoming.

With unified support, we can improve the licensing process for future dental students!
