Building student involvement, fostering civic engagement and enhancing community service to advance public health.

On July 16, Dr. Melissa Ing, Associate Professor of Comprehensive Care, and TUSDM faculty and students presented the Mini Medical School Program to middle school students at the Boston Museum of Science. Designed by Dr. Ing, the program aims to inspire students’ interest in STEM fields, including dentistry. Students practiced learning how to suture, using a banana as a prop, casting a broken arm, and being instructed on CPR as well as how to measure blood pressure and pulse. The TUSDM facilitators also taught the students about tick-borne diseases, head and neck anatomy, cariology, and dental forensics.
