Building student involvement, fostering civic engagement and enhancing community service to advance public health.

The oral health epidemic has constantly been buried under all the other health concerns and it’s time to do an extreme makeover to this system. National campaigns like Sean Combs, Vote or Die Campaign encapsulated people with an energy that evoked a behavior change. A change that in many ways tapped into all cultural demographics and yielded the election of the first African-American President, oral health is in need of a “first” situation as well and Protect Your Teeth campaign is this opportunity. The Protect Your Teeth activation was sponsored by qii (pronounced chee), an oral health drink company that is based out of Toronto, Canada.

This year we were able to partner with qii to take the activation to new heights. In January 2018, DoseBiome introduced qii, an oral health drink that removes up to 52% of plaque in one serving, according to studies conducted by the company. Fun fact: qii (pronounced chee) is how you say “seven” in Mandarin, which is the pH level of qii and also the pH level of saliva that usually indicates good dental health.

DeVonte Johnson (D21) reflects: “As commuters passed by in North Station we were able to educate them about oral health as well as give them a refreshing drink. We received a lot of great feedback about our guerilla marketing approach. We want to continue making adjustments to the campaign so we can measure our impact and make data driven decisions moving forward. Overall, it was a great experience. Can’t wait to make it bigger and better next year.”

P.S. S/O to all the Volunteers!
