Join Tisch College for a conversation with U.S. Congresswoman (MA-7) Ayanna Pressley. Congresswoman Pressley was sworn into office in January 2019 and recently proposed an amendment to lower the national voting age to 16 for federal elections. She previously served on the Boston City Council from 2010 – 2019, where she led the establishment of the Committee on Healthy Women, Families, and Communities; championed the introduction of a comprehensive sexual health curriculum in Boston Public Schools; convened the first “listening-only” hearing in the Council’s history, focused on gun violence and trauma; and fought to spur economic development in underserved communities. She was the first woman of color elected to the Boston City Council and the first elected to Congress from Massachusetts. Before serving in elected office, Congresswoman Pressley was a senior aide to Congressman Joseph P. Kennedy II and to Senator John Kerry. Follow the conversation at #PressleyAtTufts.
