2019 National Health Service Corps Students to Service (S2S) Loan Repayment Program – Application cycle open
HRSA just announced the opening of the National Health Service Corps Students to Service (S2S) Loan Repayment Program. The application cycle closes on December 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The NHSC S2S LRP provides up to $120,000 in tax-free loan repayment to medical and dental students in their final year of school in exchange for a three-year service commitment in a high-need (HPSA 14 or above) rural, tribal, or urban community.
- Students applying to the program must be U.S. citizens or nationals and enrolled or accepted in an eligible medical (MD or DO) or dental (DDS or DMD) degree program at a U.S. accredited school.
- Program award installments are paid to students annually in a lump sum which, when applied to qualified health professional student loans, can significantly lower the overall debt for some scholars by reducing accrued loan interest amounts.
- NHSC S2S LRP award recipients are eligible to continue service through the NHSC Loan Repayment Program, and could potentially pay off all of their educational debt with continued service at an approved NHSC site.
We invite you to encourage potential applicants to visit the NHSC website to learn more.
