Guest Speaker: Daniel Brocks, MD
“Understanding Sjögren’s and Dry Eye Disease/ What are ALL my options?”
Dr. Brocks is the Chief Medical Officer of BostonSight, the nonprofit that is behind the development and dissemination of the PROSE scleral lens. He is also a board certified comprehensive ophthalmologist with a specialization in the medical and surgical treatment of the cornea, focusing on the treatment of ocular surface disorders, including dry eye disease. In addition, he founded The Dry Eye Center at Hudson Valley Eye Surgeons in Fishkill, NY. He is particularly interested in the treatment of dry eye related to autoimmune issues, including Sjögren’s, Rheumatoid arthritis, and Graft vs Host Disease. He is passionate about empowering the patient with knowledge to be able to make the best decisions about their own health care!
Dr. Brocks received his BA and MD from Tufts University, with Internal Medicine internship at Mount Auburn Hospital and ophthalmology residency and chief residency at Long Island Jewish/North Shore Hospital System. Dr. Brocks completed an additional fellowship year at Mount Sinai Hospital, NYC, with Dr. Penny Asbell.
