Building student involvement, fostering civic engagement and enhancing community service to advance public health.

On September 22nd, AAWD volunteered in the Giving Factory at Cradles to Crayons, a nonprofit organization against child poverty.

Kristin Bradley (D20) reflects: “We were assigned to “shopping,” which meant that we looked at a list of items requested for each child by their social worker and put together kits full of the requested supplies. Overall, our two hours of work was able to help hundreds of kids.”

Rayna Silva (D20) reflects: “It was an honor volunteering at the Cradles to Crayons giving factory this past Saturday with AAWD helping to package essential items that children who are homeless or living in low income communities don’t have including clothes, shoes, and hygiene kits. I had such an amazing experience seeing the impact we can have in the Boston community and I can’t wait until our next volunteer opportunity at Cradles to Crayons!”
