Each year, the INDIA New England News selection committee selects 20 women to be honored at their annual woman of the year gala. Sangita Murali (D18) was selected for the top 20 this year. Sangita is president of Tufts AAWD and has been committed to addressing dental inequities throughout her four years at TUSDM. She is passionate around creating supportive environments to empower people from diverse backgrounds, including the South Asian, geriatric, and homeless women’s communities. Additionally, one of her favorite ways to engage adolescents involved teaming up with Science Club for Girls to promote their self-confidence and literacy building in STEM. After graduation, Sangita will be a resident at the Georgia School of Orthodontics.
