Congratulations to the armed forces newest recruit! D20 Cindy Se Ha Park was commissioned into the Air Force as Second Lieutenant Park last Monday, March 20.  Cindy will be receiving full tuition and a monthly stipend through the F. Edward Hébert Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) in exchange for three years of service as a commissioned medical officer upon graduation. Our very own Dr. Charles Rankin, who formerly served in the Air Force as a general dentist, led the small ceremony in the Alumni lounge in the presence of Cindy’s family and friends.

Many gathered to show their love and support that afternoon — Cindy’s mom flew in from Virginia, her VIP bigs came prepared with flowers, and many of her D20 classmates, including her fellow army servicemen, were there to witness this special moment.  An emotional tear and embarrassed laughter were shared together after the induction, followed by lunch and cake to celebrate.  If you have ever met Cindy, you know how her sweet smile and fun-loving personality can bring so much joy.  There is no doubt that her devotion and compassion will help her succeed not only as a dentist, but also as Second Lieutenant Park in the U.S. Air Force.  Thank you for your service!
