Join Tisch College and Tufts Hillel on Monday, February 27 at 8PM in the Cohen Auditorium for this year’s Merrin Moral Voices Lecture featuring Marian Wright Edelman. Edelman is the Founder and President of the Children’s Defense Fund and has been an advocate for disadvantaged Americans, particularly children, for her entire professional life. A graduate of Spelman College and Yale Law School, Edelman was the first black woman admitted to the Mississippi Bar and directed the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund office in Jackson, Mississippi. She has received over 100 honorary degrees and numerous awards, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom, our nation’s highest civilian award. She is the author of Families in Peril: An Agenda for Social Change, The Measure of Our Success: A Letter to My Children and Yours, and several other books.
