Health Literacy Intensive
Application deadline: 8/17/16, 5pm
You are invited to apply to the 2016-2017 TUSDM Health Literacy Intensive designed specifically for first- and second-year dental students. This Intensive is an educational leadership opportunity that will enable participants to gain health literacy-related experience, knowledge, and skills beyond the traditional classroom setting. Successful completion of the TUSDM Health Literacy Intensive is expected to facilitate a smoother transition into patient care. Health literacy is defined here as “the degree to which individuals have the capacity to obtain, process, and understand basic health information and services needed to make appropriate health decisions.”
All D19 and D20 students are invited to apply; however, please note that the Intensive is open to a maximum of 15 students. Selections will be based on the application found in the following link: http://dental.tufts.edu/hli
Please read all the information in this document (containing further details about the Intensive and participant expectations) prior to submitting an application.
Applications are due on Wed. the 17th of August by 5:00 pm. Late notifications will not be accepted.
All questions regarding the Intensive and/or application process should be directed to Dr. Nicole Holland at Nicole.Holland@tufts.edu.
