Building student involvement, fostering civic engagement and enhancing community service to advance public health.

Last month, the Tufts HDA chapter along with the Massachusetts Hispanic Dental Association provided oral hygiene instructions, distributed toothbrushes and toothpaste, and played interactive oral health games with children at the Martha Eliot Health and Safety health fair. Stephie Castera (D16) had this to say about the event and the volunteers:

“This was such a wonderful event and was in part due to the amazing TUSDM volunteers present: Dr. Herman, Dr. Bae, Dr. Tsakalelli, Yamila Garber (D16), Krysten Herrero (D18), Elizabeth Betances (D18), Carli Katz (D18), and Elizabeth Kozlowski (D18). They all volunteered with a big smile and were very energetic and interactive with the children. One of the best teams I’ve ever worked with! The children responded very positively to us and were happy to participate in all our dental related activities.”
