SAMDA celebrated Diwali, the Festival of Lights, on October 28th in the Dental Alumni lounge. It was a sold out celebration with great food from Panjabi Dhaba and a Bollywood performance by Aekta Patel (D18) and Sonya Joseph (D18). The Tufts Health Professions Scholarship Program will be collecting items adjacent to the Sackler cafeteria during a few weeks in November for their annual "Drive For the Troops". HPSP co-presidents Ryan George (D15) and Mitzi Liu (D15) have sent out the following request:
"If you know a Tufts Dental alumnus or know of a family member of one of our own Tufts Dental family (which would include administration, faculty, staff and support personnel), please let Ryan George (D15), Mitzi Liu (D15), or Dr. Rankin know. Just let us know their mailing addresses and we will try to get something out to them. Connection to home is important for the deployed soldier and is essential to their morale and purpose."

Joke Alesh (D15), chosen to represent TUSDM, was one of a select group of Tufts student leaders who met with US Senator Elizabeth Warren on Monday September 15th. Shortly after the meeting, the Senator took to the stage to speak to a packed auditorium as part of the Tisch College Alan D. Solomon Lecture on Citizenship and Public Service series.
