Join Tufts Dental LGBTQA at 2016 Boston Pride Parade!

The sun’s back out and so is Tufts Dental LGBTQA! We’ll be kicking off the warm weather by marching in the 2016 Boston Pride Parade on June 11th!

Our group’s mission is to provide a safe and open environment for LGBTQ and allied current and prospective Tufts Dental students to connect and socialize. We are working as a group to expand our community outreach and partnerships to promote oral health awareness and refer resources to LGBTQ communities, as well as providing education and resources for providers to better serve these communities.

Together, with Tufts Medical Center and the Tufts Biomedical Queer Alliance (BQA), which represents students, faculty and staff of the schools on the Tufts Health Sciences Campus, we will be marching in support and celebration of the LGBTQA community here at Tufts.  Continue reading Join Tufts Dental LGBTQA at 2016 Boston Pride Parade!

HSDA at Martha Eliot Health Center Annual Heath and Safety Fair

HSDA Tufts Chapter had the pleasure of working along side the Massachusetts HDA at the  Martha Eliot Health Center Annual Heath and Safety Fair in Jamaica Plain on May 21 to teach children proper oral hygiene instructions, play educational games, and hand out toothbrushes to the local community.  The fair encompassed all areas of health care which gave our members a great opportunity to learn about other organization in the area.  From live music to firetruck tours, it is easy to say – they had a blast!

ASDA Smile, Share and Care

Smile, Share and Care is an American Student Dental Organization (ASDA) Tufts Chapter initiative dedicated to connecting future dentists with our community here in Chinatown. Every Monday, six students go to the local Wang YMCA to read oral health related books to the children. With the help of stuffed animals and games, Tufts future dentists show them that dental hygiene is fun and it starts now!
