Smile, Share, and Care @ Wang YMCA

Smile, Share, Care meets every Monday from 4:15-5:15pm and we provide Oral Hygiene Instruction and fun dentistry related activities to preschool students at the Wang YMCA across the street. If you’re looking to have an awesome time working with some great kids, sign up! Due to the limited spots available, please make sure you can make the session before signing up. If you sign up but cannot make the session, it is your responsibility to find an alternate volunteer!

“Save the date” of March 29th at 4:30pm for the 3rd symposium series of Breaking the Silence: Weight Bias and Health. Faculty and staff are also welcome to attend!  Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford will be the keynote speaker. This event is co-sponsored by the Tufts University Freidman School of Nutrition Science and Policy’s Committee on Social Justice, Inclusion and Diversity and Tufts University School of Medicine’s Multicultural Fellows Council.

Harvard School of Dental Medicine AGE Prosthodontics is hosting a lecture and workshop for National Prosthodontics Awareness Week. Dr. Gary Wetreich DDS presents “Prosthodontics – Infinite Possibilities.” Following the lecture, residents will lead an interactive planning workshop. Light refreshments and drinks will be provided.

The University of South Carolina School of Medicine is pleased to announce THE 4th ANNUAL MEMMYS!

This national music video contest seeks student-produced videos from students in the health professions with the top entries receiving a monetary award for their school’s health sciences library – 1st place: $1,500, 2nd place: $1,000, 3rd place: $500.

The contest is open to any student enrolled in a health professions school (allopathic, osteopathic, dentistry, pharmacy, public health, nursing, allied health, physician assistants, veterinary, podiatry, etc.).

Past Memmys winners include Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Drexel University College of Medicine, Duke School of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, Illinois College of Optometry, University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, University of Maryland School of Medicine, and University of New Mexico College of Medicine.

At this year’s symposium, attendees will hear presentations on recent and ongoing studies focused on overlooked health issues or understudied areas, discuss potential next steps, and brainstorm how to further increase community engagement in research.
